Pantone’s 2024 Color of the Year - Peach Fuzz

Spoonflower partners every year with the Pantone Color Matching folks to promote their color of the year, as a design challenge. This year it’s Peach Fuzz, AKA Pantone 13-1023. As a designer, I’ve been working with Pantone colors for more than 30 years. And, I love colors! This design challenge unfolded into a collection called A Flamboyance of Summer, on account of a group of flamingos being called a FLAMBOYANCE.

This here is the coolest ever tote that I made as a commission for my sister-in-law. She’s giving it to her mum, who loves flamingos!

I designed the stripes and dots to complement the final Flamboyance of Flamingos design. The pattern evolved as I eventually lightened the background creating more contrast, and popping out those flamboyant flamingos.
